Future Designs
Designing knitwear patterns is a long process, from conceptualization, sample knitting, pattern writing, grading, testing, and rewriting before the final release. Knitwear design is a cycle, and throughout the many stages involved in the creation of knitting patterns, new designs emerge. Here you can find the latest design ideas, future patterns, and current samples being knit up that will make it into the Pearl by Rae knitwear pattern collection.
The Ceridwen Gloves are a versatile knitwear accessory knit in 2x2 rib stitch. Knit in the round from the bottom up, the thumb gusset is formed through steady increases. The thumb is worked prior to the fingers. Stitches for the fingers are picked up at the cast on edge of the thumb, ensuring a seamless design with no holes at their point of separation. Modification options for mittens and a faux cable design are provided
Status: Final edits and graphic design of the pattern.
Release: End of August 2025.

Brigid Sweater
The Brigid Sweater is an all over fair isle colourwork drop shoulder sweater with a boxy unisex fit. The colourwork motif is separated by a section of stockinette stitch in the main colour and single row of colourwork, providing a break between the fair isle colourwork motif. Knitted from the top down, the saddle shoulders are knit individually and incorporated when working the back and front panels. Stitches are picked up along the saddle shoulder edge and cast on for the collar. The back and front panels are knit flat and connect into the round under the arm. The sleeves are picked up along the front and back panel and connect with the live saddle shoulder stitches, providing a seamless transition. The collar is picked up along the front, back, and saddle shoulder cast on stitches. There are options provided for a regular or split hem, wide tapered sleeves, and regular or double folded collar. Modification options for fit adjustment, length adjustment, and different yarn weights are provided.
